PDATE: BTS have postponed all of their European tour dates, including two London shows, due to coronavirus. Head here for more information.
BTS are set to bring their Map of the Soul tour to the UK this year – despite the boy band being forced to cancel a string of dates in South Korea over coronavirus fears.
The seven-piece K-Pop group, who released their latest album Map of the Soul: 7 earlier this month, were due to play in Seoul on April 11, 12, 18 and 19.
However, management group Big Hit have now confirmed that these dates will no longer go ahead. In a statement, it said: "Plans for Map of the Soul Tour — Seoul included the involvement of a number of global production companies and a large group of expert international crew, with over 200,000 concertgoers expected to attend.
"However, the current global coronavirus (COVID-19) has made it impossible at this time to predict the scale of the outbreak during the dates of the concert in April, alongside increasing uncertainty about the cross-border movement of concert staff and equipment."
It added: "Please understand that this decision was made after extensive and careful consideration in order to cooperate with the government’s measures on restricting public events as well as municipal advisories on the use of cultural and sports facilities."
Big Hit also confirmed that tickets for these Seoul shows will be refunded.
As it stands, the rest of the tour will go ahead as planned, with shows in the US, Europe and Japan still in the diary.

Who will be supporting BTS on their tour?
Information on this is scant and K-Pop acts don't tend to have support acts.
But rumours are flying around online that Halsey could make a guest appearance after she collaborated with the boys on their song Boy With Luv last year.
And it could be a possibility, with the Halsey and BTS appearing to have a long-standing friendship.
What's the setlist for the Map of the Soul tour?
Again, we don't have much information for this but the last time they played in the UK at Wembley Stadium in June last year, they stuck to their tried-and-tested combination of chart-conquering singles, new releases and reimagined songs from the solo back catalogues of some individual members.
It's a fan-pleasing concoction and the group doesn't tend to veer from setlists during the tour. The London gig featured the following tracks:
- Not Today
- Outro: Wings
- Trivia: Just Dance
- Best of Me
- Trivia: Love
- Boy With Luv
- Silver Spoon
- Fake Love (Rocking Vibe Remix)
- Trivia: Seesaw
- The Truth Untold
- Outro: Tear
- Mic Drop
- So What
- Make It Right
The gig will likely feature a few new ones from their latest album Map of the Soul: 7.
What merch will be on sale?
Again, we don't have much information on this yet but the last time they played in the capital a pop-up store opening in Camden selling BTS and BT21 merchandise.
It ran for more than a month, from May 28 to June 2.
